Uzbekistan Agricultural Exhibition novamber 2023

Introducing the International Agrotech Exhibition in Uzbekistan
Agrotech Uzbekistan, one of Uzbekistan’s leading exhibitions for agriculture and food processing industries, will host its 17th edition in November 2023 at Uzexpocentre. These exhibitions have a long-standing reputation as a platform for establishing cooperation between foreign manufacturers and buyers from Uzbekistan. Agriculture is one of the most important industries in Uzbekistan. The country has climatic conditions suitable for the production of agricultural products and a powerful irrigation system is used to irrigate crops. In Uzbekistan, more than 31% of GDP is produced in rural areas. Therefore, ensuring continuous food security for its population through sustainable development of agriculture is an important strategic issue for the government of Uzbekistan. Currently, agriculture is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy and the third largest contributor to its GDP (27.3% in 2020). Due to climatic conditions, 85% of Uzbekistan’s agricultural land is irrigated. The most important crops are cotton and wheat, and other notable products include fruits (apples, apricots, peaches, and berries), vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, and potatoes), milk, silk, and livestock. Production of raw cotton, traditionally a major agricultural product, has declined significantly, freeing up about 170,000 hectares of land. This land will be used primarily for planting potatoes and other vegetables, fodder crops for feed production, and horticultural crops. Uzbekistan currently produces about 11 million tons of fruits and vegetables, a volume expected to increase to 5 million tons by 2030. Fluctuations in the in- and out-of-season seasons In addition, the capacity of cold storage facilities, estimated at about 811,000 tons, needs to be increased as it is only sufficient to store 5 percent of the national harvest. Demand for modern machinery, processing equipment, and cooling technologies is increasing as the government aims to increase the efficiency of agricultural production. The International Agrotech Exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to establish and strengthen business relationships in the Central Asian region and expand the horizons of companies through representatives of wholesale companies and retail chains.
